Banana Berry Smoothie (non-dairy)

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to the blender, putting the liquid ingredients in first.
  2. Blend until smooth.

M.D. Notes

  • To make the smoothie a bit cooler and thicker, add 3–4 ice cubes before blending.
  • Optional add-ins: for additional sweetness use 1/2 teaspoon honey or maple syrup; for a thinner smoothie add a bit more juice; for additional fiber add 1 teaspoon flaxseed meal.
  • Berries have an abundance of antioxidants, which neutralize free radicals that may contribute to diseases.
  • Bananas are a good source of fiber, potassium, vitamin C and vitamin B6.
  • This recipe is soothing if one is experiencing a sore mouth or throat or having difficulty swallowing.
  • This smoothie may be enjoyed cool or at room temperature.
  • A good smoothie to have after any dental work.
