℞ M.D. Notes
- I love the Blendtec blender, which I use multiple times each day for puréed soups, smoothies and salad dressings. I am also just about to try the Magic Bullet for individual smoothie servings.
- Berries have an abundance of antioxidants.
- Bananas are a good source of fiber, potassium, vitamin C and vitamin B6.
- The smoothness and coolness of this smoothie is especially soothing for anyone experiencing sore mouth or swallowing difficulties associated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy or surgery.
- To make this recipe dairy-free, try soft tofu instead of yogurt or kefir.
- For additional calories use full-fat yogurt.
- For added fiber use flaxseed meal.
