Banana Orange Smoothie

In the late 15th century, orange trees began to grow in the Caribbean, after Christopher Columbus brought seeds there on his second voyage to the New World. In the 16th century, Spanish explorers were responsible for bringing oranges to Florida, and then to California in the 18th century by Spanish missionaries.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender, adding liquids first.
  2. Pulse until smooth.
  3. Serve chilled.

  • Oranges are rich in fiber.
  • Oranges are also rich in vitamin C, a significant antioxidant.
  • Bananas are a good source of vitamins C and B6, and of the minerals potassium and manganese. They are a good source of fiber (about 3 grams in one banana).
